DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Carry out all the activities necessary to purchase goods in compliance with given cost/time/quality requirements and in line with Company policies and standards.  
  2. Support the vendors during the preparation of the technical/commercial proposals from NPD with the obligation of confidentiality about the related product.
  3. Negotiation/Persuasion and Problem Solving Skills
  4. Ability to add value, reduce costs, and input to business improvements.
  5. Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  6. Ability to forecast and maintain good coverage on stock across all DC’s
  7. Be directly in involved in Sourcing, Supply and pricing
  8. Maintaining of Databases such as NDA’s, SANHA, Allergen and Product Specs
  9. Ensuring Projects, Reports and allocations are closed off timeously
  10. Ability to Break down and analyse complaints and find innovative solutions
  11. Ensuring Supplier splits are being adhered to
  12. Fast tracking claims
  13. Decision-making and attention to detail

REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. Must have 3 years of experience in a procurement role. (chilled FMCG highly advantageous)
  2. Degree or Diploma (compulsory).
  3. Tertiary qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain advantageous.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office – must have strong Excel skills.
  5. Experience with Purchasing, Procurement, Buying or Expediting.
  6. Experience in a production manufacturing environment advantageous
  7. Experience with ERP and MRP.
  8. Understanding of popular products in the industry.
  9. Excellent interpersonal and social skills.
  10. Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and suppliers.
  11. Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  12. Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  13. Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and achieve set targets.
  14. Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations.
  15. Commercial and financial awareness.
  16. Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
